Flat Creek Launches What's News Colorado

New site features Colorado news from Lamar to Steamboat Springs

Denver, Colo. – Flat Creek, a strategic marketing technology firm, today launched What's News Colorado (www.whatsnewscolorado.com), a new online endeavor to give Coloradoans a one-stop shop for local news throughout the Centennial State.

"The client's vision was to feature important stories we often miss, those on the front page in Craig or Fort Morgan. Through the use of new technologies such as RSS we were able to combine Colorado's best news sources and enable visitors to get a quick glance at what’s going on across the state."

Via technology called Rich Site Summary (RSS) What's News Colorado features live feeds from major newspapers across the state, including the Rocky Mountain News, the Ft. Collins Coloradoan, the Grand Junction Sentinel, the Colorado Springs Gazette, the Pueblo Chieftain and the Steamboat Springs Pilot. The site also includes links to local newspapers who do not offer RSS feeds.

The site does not host any content itself, but is rather an aggregator of information from other sites, offering links directly to the state's news. Sections on the site include local news, political news, sports and views & opinions. Additional sections, such as business, will be added in the coming weeks.

What's News Colorado is also compatible with mobile devices, making it easy to get the latest news from across Colorado via a BlackBerry™ or Treo™ device.
